Company History

J Cooper and Sons Ltd is a family owned business run by Graham and Alan Cooper, who were founders of the business along with their father James Cooper, who set up the business in 1974.

We are ideally situated in a quiet corner of Derbyshire, located in Killamarsh, 1 mile from the M1 junction 31 between Sheffield, Chesterfield, Rotherham and Worksop, giving easy access to the various quarries located nearby.

Our Fleet

The haulage company currently operate twelve, distinctive, eight-wheeler tippers, which consist of Fodens, Volvo's and Man's, which are linked to the traffic office enabling full utilisation to our advantage.

Graham and Alan both hold HGV licences, along with both their sons, James and Russell Cooper who work on maintenance of the fleet in the garage.

The Complete Service

The Cooper fleet operates from local quarries to various locations within the UK.

The eight-wheeler tippers carry materials including:-

• Sand
• Stone
• Gravel
• Tarmac
• Waste products

Dedicated Reliability

Maintenance is carried out in our on-site garage run by Mick Blakey and James Cooper (Graham's eldest son).

We employ four mechanics, working a days and 'afters' shift system, keeping downtime to the barest minimum.

In addition to routine maintenance, the garage caters for almost anything. We are equipped for all major jobs, and everything is done in house.
